Review: Can't understand why some people have said this isn't A1 quality as it is very good.

Review: This steel engineering ruler is beautifully made and straight enough for testing the trueness of a timber edge, but sadly the etched scale cannot be trusted. It turns out that over the length of a metre the ruler loses a whole millimetre. It's hard to judge exactly where the steel is deformed, the scale is more or less right from about 400mm to 1000mm, but over the first 400mm its about 1mm short. The ruler is not damaged in any way so presuming the scale was correct at the time of pressing, it's internal manufacturing stresses have caused it to distort in length.
