Review: I`ve been using standard duct tape for years with mainly good results but as Gorilla tape has received much praise, I thought I`d give it a try. First impressions were a little disappointing as I removed the coulourful teardrop shaped outer card. I`m not sure what I was expecting to be honest ... maybe a bunch of flowers would pop out or perhaps a fanfare as I`d finally caught up with everyone else on the planet but no, just a roll of tape which looked very much like duct tape, albeit slightly heavier. On a warm sunny day in the back garden and with slightly sunburnt shoulders, I decided to test it out on a split downpipe at head height and if it didn`t work, then I`d try something else or just try to change the pipe. The pipe was wiped clean and dried and holding the roll in my hand, I began to peel the end of the tape away ... ha ! Within seconds, my fingertips were stuck to the tape and I found it genuinely difficult to pull the tape firstly, off the roll and then secondly, from my fingertips because my left hand took it from my right, then back to the left and ended up as a sticky blob - eventually I stuck the blob to my skirt and the problem was solved. The adhesive is very strong and you have to be careful to position the tape correctly, but after that you`ll get a satisfying feeling of doing a proper job that`ll last a decent length of time (to be confirmed). Yes, it`s a bit more expensive than your regular duct tape but if you need a good strong tape, it`s well worth the extra pennies.
