Review: First off the file edge on this tool measures 25cm. The total length of the tool including the handle is 35cm. See photo. This accords with the Amazon description. This is important as other files l own included the handle length in the description which is frustrating when you receive them as the file area is substantially smaller than advertised. So well done Draper and Amazon. Second this file has no plastic handle - I prefer this as the plastic ones eventually come off when the file is put to work. Having a simple bare metal handle means it will last years. Thirdly, when I used it the file was excellent. It sharpened the lawnmower blade, hoes and shears in minutes. The file is usually known in the trade as a ‘bastard’ file as it is the roughest surface (the 2 other categories of file are ‘Engineer/Second Cut’ and ‘Finishing’, which are less rough and fine/smooth respectively). This is perfect for garden equipment. There were no real signs of wear after l used this which indicates good quality steel and the file appears to have been oil hardened so will last and any rust which will appear will be superficial only. This is a simple cheap tool worth buying as it will keep your garden equipment in sharp order for years. Recommended. I have a suspicion that my use of ‘bastard’ and ‘hoe’ in this review will trigger a profanity warning in Amazon HQ and some hapless employee will have to review this. Both words are used in their proper context. As a heads-up my next review will be of a slag hammer........

Review: If you have any type of spade, how, lawnmower, then you need one of these to keep it all sharp. Does the job, but a handle would be nice.
