Review: Rather than throw away a perfectly good brush head i decided to replace the broom handle instead. Like many of you on here i spent quite some time reading reviews and ratings as i was concerned if i bought too cheap it would be of poor quality, maybe not even straight so i decided to spend a bit more (£9) and go with a known brand (Draper). Unfortunately what i received is very poor quality for the price! One the plus side it is perfectly straight but that's all its got going for it. The handle is 28mm thick but has about is roughly tapered at one end down to about 24mm which instead of making it easy to insert into the handle bracket it actually makes it a bit loose. The handle itself is raw wood (un-sealed) which is OK but it's also covered in dents and blue scuff marks which of you want it to look clean and tide would need to be sanded out first which is extra work (yes i know that's being a bit fussy :-) ). Worse still are all the indents which have been poorly infilled with wood filler before sanding, the worst of which is right in the middle which being weaker than the rest of the pole could potentially snap under pressure as it excessively flexes. In the end i decided not to use the due to the excess work needed to get it fit for purpose and ended up buying a pre-sealed handle from a local merchant which had none of the filler used on the draper handle and although not 100% straight was more than good enough for £3. In this instance for me a brand name didn't mean superior quality. Based upon my experience i would recommend you save your money and not buy this item.
