Review: Personally I love this lathe, the variable speed is brilliant for most turning you only need the midrange. This turns a 9" x 2" or a 6" x 3" inch bowl with no problem, I'm using an Axminster 80mm chuck. I have really run this through its paces, softwood, hardwoods, hardwoods with milliput inlays, can't fault it, it is great for my needs although when you are hollowing out bowls you do need to remove the tailstock, but this does mean that due to the size of the lathe you can work facing the bowl. I would not like to turn bowls bigger than the sizes I mentioned earlier as it does tend to shake the lathe as I have tried it. If you are doing medium bowls etc then I would actually recommend this lathe. I know it is China generic and you can tell that from the profile so I bought it on price as it was the cheapest of this type.

Review: First, item didn't arrive at described time. No one had informed me about delay. Never mind I rescheduled delivery for another week. Another issue is that tool rest broke down after an hour of using the lathe (1 inch of metal snapped down lol). It is not possible of course to request only some parts for the item. I have to dismantle whole lathe (97kg !!!) and place it back to the box. Few hours of wasting my time. Overall could be a very nice lathe. I would never by any bulky items from Amazon again...
