Description: The Forge Fast Hexagonal/Torx® Compatible Timber Screws are suitable for fixing into soft or hardwood. They have a combination hexagonal head with a deep Torx® compatible insert that reduces cam-out, also provides higher torque levels and a firmer drive. Its super sharp tip gives immediate bite from the very first turn. A patented self-drilling thread removes the need to pre-drill the timber and reduces the probability of splitting, even when screwing close to the edge. Hardened case and core give exceptional strength. Protected by elementech 2000 surface treatment which provides corrosion resistance up to 30 times longer than some standard zinc coated screws. They are highly resistant to pull out, they can flex by up to 35°, reducing likelihood of the screw shearing when used in flexible materials. CE approved for use in load-bearing timber construction. Available in a green or tan treated finish. Forgefast Hexagonal/Torx® Compatible Timber T30 Screws Size: 7 x 100mm. Pack Size: Tub of 50. Finish: Green elementech 2000. Review: I usually use 'timberdrive' screws which I like and are easy to drive into hard timber and have nicely manufactured hexagonal heads. These looked OK so I thought I would try them however it is very hard to get a hex driver bit to engage securely with the hex head as it is very rounded and slips easily. The torx drive is OK but still doesn't drive as well as a proper hex head. I won't be buying them again, but they are just about usable if you are very careful.
