Review: I really should have returned this vice, but I only realised that it didnt work after I had installed it at considerable effort as I had to cut a chunk out of my workbench to install it. It only tightened, but wouldn't loosen. Seemed a bit odd, then I noticed a circlip in the box it came in. This had obviously fallen off, but where should it go? Next door neighbour is an engineer and came over to help and showed me where the circlip should go and installed it, it then fell off. Trice more we tried, it fell off each time as soon as the handle was turned. He said the circlip was too large a diameter for the shaft it was going on. Explains why it was loose in the box. So measured the shaft size and ordered some circlips online. But although the correct size for the shaft they are too small to hold on the washer that is what allows the vice to close. A total dog's dinner. Apologies for this lengthy ramble, but seems only fair I explain why I have given this product a 1 star rating. It does beggar belief that something made on assembly line is fitted with why size circlip. Maybe they ran out of the correct ones! So in summary, yours may be ok, or it might not, but frankly I wouldn't risk buying product.
