Review: Great trap, very easy to use and pet friendly. Just put peanut butter in trap and you should catch mice easily.

Review: ***Please scroll to bottom for latest update The actual mouse trap included with this kit is great and has worked wonderfully for us. It is easy to set, with a nice firm mechanism. I have tried the old style ones with wooden base, and metal pins/hoops.... and found them impossible to set. These are so much better! This kit of course includes an outer box for the trap to be placed in. Having just set the trap and I can see so many benefits to these boxes and their clever design: 1. The mouse trap is held firmly in an inner chamber, which has entry holes offset from the entry holes of the main box. This sounds a bit confusing but I have added a photo with captions to help explain. Basically there is no way that a child could put their fingers and reach the trap. 2. Once set the box clicks shut very firmly, and can only be opened with a key (provided). The key is standard across the traps, so you don't need to worry about losing one. 3. The trap, when set, shows a yellow bar in the top of the box. It is therefore very easy to see if the trap has caught anything. Good luck catching your mice, and I cannot recommend these enough. They are so robust that even if you trod on the outer box, kicked it, threw it, moved it, etc, there is just no way you could get your own fingers. Just make sure you close the box properly - it is very firm, but will give a nice loud click once shut. And finally.... in terms of bait, I have always used a tiny bit of peanut butter which works wonders! **UPDATE** - 2 mice caught in first 24 hours!!! **UPDATE** - after catching a couple of mice, the black base warps (apparently with the force if the mechanism snapping shut), meaning when the trap is set it fouls the lid when you close the container. This means, once the container is shut is stops the trap being activated. Several times now I have found all the bate gone, and no mouse. I have returned 4 of these all with the same problems.
