Review: My husband ordered this for our oak worktops in the kitchen, swayed by the fact that it was antibacterial - perfect for a countertop. Spent ages sanding until the surface was perfect & then I applied the first coat with a lint free cloth. It soaked in immediately but I waited another 24hrs, as per instructions, and reapplied. When I got to double figures with my applications & the wood was still dull & not waterproof I started reading reviews. I wish I had read them beforehand, I would have never even considered purchasing this product. Our countertop is dull, stained & not waterproof at all. This oil has brought out dark patches which weren't there after sanding. It's a mess as you can see from my photo. By contrast, the second photo is from another area treated with Danish oil over 2 years ago. I'm currently summoning the enthusiasm for having to sand the whole lot down again & start over. Thank you Ronseal.
