Hardwood Balau - Bangkirai - is the most commonly used hardwood deck board in the UK it is a very durable hardwood. It is a dense hardwood, heavy, strong and has very little knots that is well suited to deck construction. Balau has the beauty of wood showing a mixture of warm colours of golden browns, light browns and pale reddish-brown. This mix of wood colour tones tend to blend in well depending on the exposure of the deck to the elements. Yellow balau can be stained and oiled easily.
