Review: I liked the "Thixotropic" paste like consistency. Very easy and clean to spread evenly. I cleaned, degreased, and dusted a piece of 3mm Neoprene sheet and a lump of machined flat Beech wood end grain. Applied the adhesive to both surfaces and waited 10 minutes until it was touch dry. Carefully aligned them and pushed together. First thing to note is that the word "Time" in the product name means you haven't got any!. It really does bind instantly and you cannot reposition it even a minute amount. Hmm. Anyway, after pressing the parts together I attacked them with a 2 inch hand roller, making sure both pieces were really well contacted by rolling. I put the part away in the lounge and didn't touch it for 24 hours. I then gave each corner a gentle pull and it all seemed solid. With a successful test piece I went about preparing the bunch of big wood legs that need Neoprene feet. I looked again at the test piece the next day and two of the corners had started to peel. I gave one of them a gentle pull and it peeled away for 20mm or so. Failure. The Neoprene that came away left all it's contact cement behind, it was bare of glue. I can only conclude that, unlike most contact cements, it does not self-prime Neoprene. There was no sign of chemical bonding at all. Under 10x magnification, the peeled corner of Neoprene was pristine. I won't be using it again. Ability to self-prime rubbers is a fundamental requirement of adhesives for this application, and the product name gives a false sense that you have time to work with it. Also, at £9.49 for 250ml, it works out at £37.96 per litre!!! I have since for a specic cement for Neoprene made by Diall/Bostik. It is Thixotropic, Has repositioning time before it bonds, and is entitled Neoprene cement. It is also £9.50 per litre :)
